Vivaldi Metal Project: Welcome new drummer to the project.


The Vivaldi Metal Project have announced that drummer Mirkko De Maio has joined the project. Here's how they describe Mirkko:

Mirkko De Maio started playing and studying drums at 9 and at the age of 11 started playing professional gigs.  He played and toured in UK, France, Germany, Spain, US, Italy, Austria, Holland and Belgium with different bands and artists

such as Mind Colour – Angela Simoni (pop) – Mauro Petricelli (short movie sound track) – Internal Disfunction (Hard Rock-Glam) – Shroomery (rock) – Auguille (chill music) - Lady Sin (electro-pop,alternative) – R.Apples (Alternative rock) – Infurya (Black metal), Jeanie & The Picks (rockabilly)- MainStreet Project (fusion/jazz) and many others… Mirkko has also studied in Los Angeles, at Musicians Institute (PIT) with some of greatest drum teachers like David Derge, Chuck Silverman, Fred Dinkins, Rob Carson, Donny Gruendler, Stewart Jean, Chuck Flores, Glen Sobel, David Salinas. In July 2010 he attended Berkley Clinics at Umbria Jazz where he has studied with teachers like Ron Savage, Jon Damian and others… In September 2010 Mirkko has joined the prog hard rock band MIND KEY (Frontiers Records). With them he played live gigs like the Power & Prog Metal festival in Mons, Belgium, sharing the stage with bands like Europe, Hammerfall, Edguy, Vanden Plas, Rage…During April and may 2012 Mirkko has played as session drummer with rock progressive band STAMINA (Ice Warrior Records) for their tour as headliner in Italy (Salerno, Rome, Pisa), Germany (Munich) and Austria (Kufstein), and another tour in Netherlands (Kerkrade), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona) and Italy (Romagnano Sesia-Novara), but this time as opening act for the band ROYAL HUNT. With STAMINA Mirkko has also recorded 4 tracks of they latest cd “Perseverance” along with some big guests like Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum) , and Maria Mc Truck (Royal Hunt). Mirkko is an active drum teacher, clinician and session musician (live and studio) due to his versatility.
